Lokayukta Police caught Joint Commissioner of Commercial Tax for accepting Bribe The Lokyukta Police have caught Dakshayani Choushetty, Joint Commissioner of Commercial Tax for accepting a bribe. They caught her red-handed while she was accepting a bribe from a manager of a private company to settle a claim for GST reimbursement in Belagavi, Karnataka. The company, Vikas Composites, Belagavi had failed to submit Form C concerning State GST, it was served a seizure notice and was asked to pay Rs. 41,000. After submitting Form C to State GST, the company proceeded to the Joint Commissioner for the reimbursement claim of Rs. 41,000. Dakshayani Choushetty, Joint Commissioner of Commercial Tax demanded a bribe of Rs. 25,000 to cover up this case. Vikas Pramod Kokane, manager of Vikas Composites filed a complaint with the Lokayukta Police. The Lokayukta Police raided the office of the Joint Commissioner of Commercial Tax, on Thursday. Belagavi Lokayukta Police Inspector Niranjan Patil and staff caught the accused red-handed while she was accepting the bribe of Rs. 25,000 from the complainant and Police registered a case against her.
