Maharashtra Minister Assures that State Board Will Remain Despite by CBSE's Implementation The Education minister of Maharashtra school has informed the state assembly that despite the fact that even if the government has moved forward with executing CBSE pattern for the first standard in government schools, the state SSC Board will not be ended. In a statement Bhuse amid crucial criticism from the stakeholders and opposition parties. The minister said that, the state SSC Board will nor be concluded. The Education tradition of Maharashtra is very bright. Hence, there is no plan to end the state board that represents the existence of our state yet. On the opposite side, the education department has said that this is a step to make the state board more profficient. It is being planned to introduce various textbooks that were based on the new state curriculum. The Education Minister also stated that Maharashtra’s Education Department has developed its own CBSE-based curriculum for exams, aligned with the National Curriculum Framework (School Education) and the National Education Policy 2020. Necessary changes have been made to benefit students in the state. Under this new curriculum, balbharti is working on textbooks for first-grade students, while SCERTM is making the syllabus for Classes 1 to 10. According to the minister, this will help students gain knowledge at the state, national, and global levels. He also mentioned that the CBSE curriculum is helpful for competitive exams like JEE, NEET, and UPSC. Moreover, it aims at soft skills and personal development, including communication skills, leadership, creativity, and stress management. However, NCP MP Supriya Sule strongly opposed the decision to introduce the CBSE pattern in government schools from the 2025-26 academic year. She contended that the step would inflict damage on the Marathi language, culture, and tradition. In a letter to the minister, Sule appealed to the state government to review, fearing that substituting the SSC board with the CBSE would obliterate the rich academic heritage of Maharashtra. She underscored the need to retain the state's identity and called for reconsideration of the move.
