MCA Notifies Appointment of New Chairperson and Members to Quality Review Board
The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has recently issued a notification (G.S.R. 703(E), dated September 22, 2025) announcing the appointment of a new chairperson and members to the Quality Review Board under the Company Secretaries Act, 1980.
The central government, under section 29A of the CS Act, read with sub-rule (1) of rule 8 of the Company Secretaries Procedures of Meetings of Quality Review Board, and Terms and Conditions of Service and Allowances of the Chairperson and Members of the Board Rules, 2006, is making amendments to an earlier notification (G.S.R. 490(E), dated the 13th July, 2007).
This new notification replaces the serial numbers (1), (2) and (3) and is applicable from the date of its publication in the official Gazette. As per the updated notification, the new chairperson and members are as follows:
(1) Shri Rakesh Mohan (Retired IA and AS) is now appointed as the Chairperson.

(2) Shri Jyoti Prakash Gadia is appointed as a Member.
Address: 903-906, Tower-C, Business Zone, Nirvana Country, Sector-50, Gurugram, Haryana-122018.
(3) Ms Deepna Gokularm is appointed as a Member of the Board.
Address: Pocket-9 Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Marg, New Delhi-110124.
The Quality Review Board (QRB) is set up under Section 29A of the Company Secretaries Act, 1980, and it aims at enhancing the quality of professional services given by Company Secretaries. The board analyses and checks the quality of work done by CS and also makes recommendations to the Council of ICSI (The Institute of Company Secretaries of India).
