MCA Notifies Key Amendments to Companies (Indian Accounting Standards) Rules in Consultation With NFRA:

MCA has notified the Companies (Indian Accounting Standards) Amendment Rules, 2026, introducing key amendments to Ind AS 101, 107, 109, 110 and 7, effective from August 12.

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), in consultation with the National Financial Reporting Authority (NFRA), has introduced certain amendments to the Companies (Indian Accounting Standards) Rules, 2015, in exercise of its powers granted under section 133 read with section 469 of the Companies Act, 2013. These amendments have been officially announced via Notification No. G.S.R. 725(E), dated August 12, 2026.
According to the notification, the amendment rules will now be called the Companies (Indian Accounting Standards) Amendment Rules, 2026, effective from the date of publication of the notification in the Official Gazette, i.e., from August 12, 2026. The amended rules have further updated the foundational Companies (Indian Accounting Standards) Rules, 2015.
The amendments update Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS) 101, 107, 109, 110 and 7. In the Companies (Indian Accounting Standards) Rules, 2015, in the “Annexure”, under the heading “B. Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS)” in “Indian Accounting Standard (Ind AS) 101", after paragraph 39AI, the paragraph “39AJ [Refer Appendix 1] 39AK Annual Improvements to Ind AS (2024), amended paragraphs B5–B6. An entity shall apply those amendments for annual reporting periods beginning on or after 1 April 2026." has been placed.
