MCA Secretary Rajesh Verma Given Charge to Finance Secretary Rajesh Verma, the Secretary of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), has been assigned the additional job of Finance Secretary.. This comes as Debasish Panda, the incumbent Secretary of the Department of Financial Services (DFS), has been denied a term extension. Panda's tenure will come to an end on January 31, 2022. In February 2020, Panda, a 1987-batch IAS official from the Uttar Pradesh cadre, was appointed as the Finance Secretary. In place of Rajiv Kumar, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) confirmed his nomination as secretary, Department of Financial Services. Verma is a 1987-batch IAS officer from the Odisha cadre and is now the Corporate Affairs Secretary. In April 2020, he was named Secretary of the MCA. He was also named chairman of the Investor Education and Protection Fund Authority in the same year (IEPFA). As long as he occupies the position of secretary at the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, he will remain the head of authority.
