Member of Parliament writes to FM Seeking rectification of technical error in MCA Portal

A Member of Parliament in a letter sent to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, seeks rectification of a technical error in Ministry of Corporate Affairs(MCA) Portal.

The Letter Stated, “I have been made aware of a pressing issue that, to my understanding, warrants imminent redressal and attention from your end. A technical glitch in the Version 3 of the portal has created difficulties for all stakeholders -Chartered Accountants, Company Secretaries, customers and clients.”

It Further stated, “On examination, I happened to learn that the V3 component -introduced to facilitate Company incorporation processes -Annual Returns Filing, Director Registration, etc. has been malfunctioning. Aggravating the scale of concern, the issue has also made its inlet into social media platforms, demonstrating how the portal’s glitch has made ii impossible for a significant number of professionals to make submissions on time. On the other hand, there are numerous testimonies from customers who, owing lo these technical lapses. have been inflicted with the misfortune of having to make penal reparations.”

Addition to that, the parliament member highlighted, “In light of the same, and from what I gather through consultations and interactions with the stakeholders, a few measures could be adopted. Firstly, it would be useful to make alternate arrangements for filings until the portal finds itself functioning efficiently. Secondly. it would be fair to temporarily suspend penalties charged to clients for submissions delayed due to this error. Alternatively, reimbursement options could be made available for such clients who’ve already made payments in the form of delay penalties. In addition to the above, there are numerous requests seeking the institution of a Helpline/Customer care number for queries related to filings. Knowing that you have been very serious in taking concrete step for ease of business, I’m sure you would see the merits in these measures requested.”

Finally he requested to take these measures into consideration while taking the necessary steps for rectification of the technical error in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs portal.
