Ministry of Labour Notifies Key Officials as Inspector-cum-Facilitators Across India
The Ministry of Labour and Employment has notified that the Central Government has made an appointment of certain officials as the Inspector-cum-Facilitator.
These officials have been granted the said authority for the purposes of Chapter V and Chapter VI of the Code on Social Security, 2020, in relation to all establishments for which the central government is the appropriate government under clause (a) of sub-section (3) of Section 2 of the said code.
These officials include Chief Labour Commissioner (Central); Additional Chief Labour Commissioner (Central); Deputy Chief Labour Commissioner (Central); Regional Labour Commissioner (Central); Assistant Labour Commissioner (Central); and Labour Enforcement Officer (Central) in the office of Chief Labour Commissioner (Central), Headquarters; and Deputy Chief Labour Commissioner (Central), Regional Labour Commissioner (Central), Assistant Labour Commissioner (Central), and Labour Enforcement Officer (Central) in all regions.
The ministry has taken this action in pursuance of its powers granted under Section 122, of the Code on Social Security, 2020 (36 of
2020), and notified the same via Notification No. S.O. 2444(E), dated May 12, 2026.
