More than 43.34 Crore PANs Linked with Aadhaar Till 24.01.2022 The total number of Permanent Account Numbers (PANs) linked to Aadhaar as of January 24, 2022 is 43,34,75,209. Shri Pankaj Chaudhary, Union Minister of State for Finance, mentioned this in a written response to a question in the Lok Sabha today. The Minister went on to say that the government has extended the deadline for linking all PAN cards to Aadhaar cards to March 31, 2022. The Minister added that the challenges faced by taxpayers in linking their PAN card with their Aadhaar card could be caused by a variety of factors. This could be due to a mismatch between PAN and Aadhaar records in terms of information such as name, date/year of birth, mobile number for receiving OTP for PAN linkage, and so on. If the discrepancy is due to Aadhaar Card details, the taxpayer may request that the Aadhaar details be updated by the appropriate authority. Wherever a discrepancy or trouble with the PAN card is brought to the attention of the Minister, action is done and a resolution is provided to the taxpayer.
