Multiple Coaching Centres in Bhubaneswar Under IT scanner for Tax Evasion A team from the Central Goods and Services Tax (GST) performed numerous raids at different locations of a private coaching school in Bhubaneswar on suspicion of tax evasion. According to accounts, the Directorate General of GST Intelligence raided three locations affiliated with the Vanik Institute. The school was accused of evading Goods and Services Tax in the thousands of rupees. In addition to Bhubaneswar, the GST team conducted searches in Kolkata in this regard. Notably, Vanik Institute offers instruction for the IAS, OAS, UPSC, and other professional exams. According to sources, the searches at the private coaching institute's different locations began last night and are still ongoing. In order to probe the claims of tax evasion, GST officials scrutinised different documents from the institutes at various locations. Documents have also been confiscated. The Central squad, which is leading the assault, has up to 25 members. The searches are anticipated to continue for an extended length of time. However, no response from Central GST officials or Vanik's Chief Managing Director, Subrat Chhatoi, could be received in this respect.
