Mumbai: CA Commits Suicide After Being Blackmailed to Pay Rs 3 Crore
In a shocking recent case, a chartered accountant in the Santacruz area, Mumbai, took his own life after being allegedly blackmailed to pay over Rs 3 crore. The CA is being identified as Raj Leela More, who was 32 years old. As per the official, Raj committed suicide by consuming poison. The CA also left a three-page suicide note.
After the FIR was registered at Vakola Police Station, the police started investigating the matter. During the investigation, the police found the suicide note written by Raj.
In the note, Raj blamed two persons: Rahul Parwani and Saba Qureshi, who forced him to transfer a large amount of money and threatened him that if he did not give them money, the two accused would leak Raj’s private video. As per the note, Rahul Parwani and Saba Qureshi both blackmailed and extorted crores of money from Raj in the last 18 months.
On the first page of the suicide note, Raj wrote to apologise to his family and take care of them.
On the second and third pages, Raj wrote, “Deepa Lakhani, today I have no words to apologise, because I broke your trust. But believe me, this was the last time. I had no intention to break your trust. Whatever fraud I did, I did it myself; no one came to know anything. I did not manipulate the statement (account). Shwetha and Jaiprakash had absolutely no idea about what was happening. Please do not take any action against them,”.
“I, Raj More, am committing suicide today. Rahul Parwani is responsible for my suicide. He manipulated me and blackmailed me for months. He forced me to break my savings and stole money from my company account. Rahul Parwani and Saba Qureshi are responsible for my death“, he wrote.
As per the officials, the two accused even took his luxury car by force. Additionally, these accused knew that Raj had a high-paying job and had also invested in the stock market. Due to this, they forced him to steal funds from his company’s account and transfer it to their personal accounts.
Raj’s Mother told police that Raj had been struggling with mental stress for the past few months. A case of extortion and abetment has been filed against the two by the police, but they have not been arrested yet.
