Mysuru Palace increased Foreigners’ Entry Fees to Rs 1,000 due to GST
The Mysuru Palace Board has raised the entry fees for foreigners to Rs.1,000 per person, which is tenfold to the previous Rs.100. The new set price will come into effect on Friday.
The palace board credited the rise in entry fees to the implementation of GST. However, the board agreed to offer free access to the footwear counter, luggage road, and restrooms.
The entry fee for Indian adults has risen from Rs.100 to Rs.120. For children aged 10 to 17, the fee has been increased from Rs.50 to Rs.70. The entry fee for school and college students has been hiked from Rs.30 to Rs.50 per individual. Children under the age of ten will continue to enjoy entry for free.
Meanwhile, the palace's sound and light show, which had been suspended during the Dasara celebrations, will resume on Friday.
The Palace of Mysore (also known as the Amba Vilas Palace) is a historical palace in the city of Mysore in Karnataka. The palace is illuminated on Sundays, Public Holidays as well as during the Dasara Celebrations where 97,000 electric bulbs are used to illuminate it.
