NEET PG 2024 Exam: NEET PG 2024 Revised Exam Schedule Out; Exam in Two Shifts
NEET PG 2024 Exam: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has announced the revised schedule for the (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, Postgraduate) NEET-PG 2024 Exam on July 5, 2024. The NEET-PG 2024 exam is scheduled to be conducted on 11th August 2024 in two shifts.
The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) is responsible for conducting the National Eligibility Entrance Test-Postgraduate (NEET-PG) entrance examination every year. Every year approximately two lakh MBBS graduates appear for the NEET PG Examination for around 52,000 postgraduation seats across all over India.
As per the official notice, “In continuation of NBEMS notice dated 22.06.2024, the conduct of NEET-PG 2024 examination has been rescheduled. It will now be conducted on August 11 in two shifts. The cut-off date for the purpose of eligibility to appear in the NEET-PG 2024 shall continue to be August 15, 2024.“, “Further details regarding the conduct of examination in two shifts shall be published on NBEMS website https://natboard.edu.in in due course”
The NEET-PG 2024 Exam was earlier postponed by the Union Health Ministry on June 22, 2024. This major decision was taken as a “precautionary measure” due to the rise of allegations about the integrity of certain competitive exams. The exam was postponed because the Ministry wanted to check the robustness of the exam process and they wanted to ensure that this time no vulnerability in the exam process. The NBE Chief Dr Abhijat Sheth also said, “The Ministry wanted to make sure that miscreants do not take undue advantage of the vulnerability of the NEET PG applicants at a time when NTA exam cancellations had scared the Indian students.”
Earlier the NEET-PG 2024 Exam was scheduled to be conducted on March 3, 2024, then postponed to July 7, 2024, but due to the general elections, the exam date was advanced. Now the authority has again announced the Revised Exam Schedule for NEET-PG 2024, exams to be conducted on August 11, 2024.
As per the sources said, “Several meetings since then have been held with officials from the Union Health Ministry, National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) along with its technical partner Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), National Medical Commission (NMC) and Cyber Cell officials to evaluate the “robustness” of the system for the conduct of the exam.”
The Ministry of Health has decided to organise a thorough assessment of the robustness of the processes of the NEET-PG entrance examination.
The NEET-PG 2024 Exam will open admission seats into 12,690 Master of Surgery (MS), 24,360 Doctor of Medicine (MD), and 922 PG Diploma courses. The seats will be grated based on 50% All India Quota (AIQ), 50% state quota seats, deemed/central universities, ESIC/AFMS, and private colleges.
