NEET UG Counselling 2024: Counselling Session Postponed Until Further Notice, Check Latest Updates
NEET UG Counselling 2024: As per the latest media reports, the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2024 Counselling 2024 has been postponed until further notice. The NEET UG all-India quota (AIQ) seat counselling was expected to begin on July 6, 2024. However, as per the reports, the update has come after the Supreme Court refused to delay the NEET UG Counselling 2024 session which was scheduled to begin today i.e., July 6, 2024.
The Supreme Court (CJI DY Chandrachud along with Justices JB Pardiwala) has said that it will hear the various pleas on NEET UG 2024 on July 8, 2024. In these pleas the candidates have alleged paper leaks, some of them requested to cancel the whole NEET UG 2024 examination and re–organise it, Some have demanded an investigation into the functioning of the National Testing Agency (NTA) and others.
The NEET UG Counselling 2024 will be organised differently for the 15% All India Quota seats (government colleges, central and deemed universities) and 85% state quota seats (Employees’ State Insurance Corporation-ESIC medical colleges and Armed Forces Medical College-AFMC). The candidates who are eligible for the counselling round must visit the official NTA counselling website, mcc.nic.in and register themselves there. The NEET UG Counselling 2024 will be organised into three rounds with stray vacancy rounds and mop-up rounds. Only those candidates can register for the NEET UG Counselling 2024 who have cleared the NEET UG medical entrance test and registered and paid the required fee amount for the counselling round.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the results for the NEET UG 2024 exam conducted for 813 (out of 1563) candidates, on June 23, 2024. The resulting release has decreased the number of NEET UG toppers from 67 to 61 because earlier the candidates who were awarded 720/720 marks due to the addition of grace marks as they suffered the loss of exam time, did not achieve full marks in the second time. However, all of them scored above 680 marks but not full.
