NEET-UG Re-Exam 2024: Another Petition In Supreme Court Seeks NEET Re-Exam Over Alleged Paper Leak

NEET-UG Re-Exam 2024: A writ petition has been filed in the Supreme Court to reschedule the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Under Graduate (NEET-UG) 2024 exam, which was held on 5th May 2024. The petition raises claims of question paper leakage.

In light of the claims of the paper leak, the National Testing Agency is being ordered by the writ petition filed under Article 32 of the Constitution to retake the exam. The petitioners want the exam to be cancelled because they question the integrity of the one that was held on 5th May 2024.

The petition was submitted on 1st June 2024 and is anticipated to be scheduled for this week’s vacation bench hearing. The Supreme Court had declined to postpone the announcement of the NEET-UG exam results on May 17, in the midst of deliberating on another plea requesting comparable remedies. As they became aware of multiple instances of paper leaks, the petitioners in that case argued the National Testing Agency’s (NTA) examination on 5th May 2024 was rife with irregularities.

They claimed that the purported paper leak violated Article 14 because it unfairly favoured some applicants over others who made the decision to take the test fairly. The bench, which was chaired by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, declared that the results of the tests that were held across the country could not be stopped, even though they had given notice of the petition and had posted the case in July.
