New Fear Unlocked! KMP Inadvertently Posts Company’s Financial Statements on His WhatsApp Status
Hatsun Agro Product Limited has recently issued a regulatory filing (HAPL\SEC\49\2025-26) dated January 5, 2026, under the Regulation 30(2) – Schedule III, Part A, Para A of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, addressed to the BSE Limited and National Stock Exchange of India Limited regarding a temporary and unintentional posting of financial information on WhatsApp Status.
The company disclosed that at the time of sharing (internally with the Accounts department of the company) the first-cut draft of the unaudited financial statements of the company for the quarter ended December 31, 2025, one of their KMPs (Key Managerial Personnel) had unintentionally uploaded the draft figures [which may constitute certain Unpublished Price Sensitive Information of the Company (UPSI)] to his personal WhatsApp status. This scene was held at about 5.00 pm on January 04, 2026.
Approximately 19 people from his contact list had viewed that status; among them, some belonged to the company itself. After about an hour, the KMP became aware of the incident; thereafter, he immediately deleted his WhatsApp status.
Although these figures are still preliminary and may change during the ongoing limited review, the company believes in maintaining high standards of corporate governance. Therefore, as a precaution, we are informing the stock exchanges about this matter.
The company has shared that soon, it will inform the present situation to Audit Committee and the Board of Directors of the Company. The company is currently in the process of starting an internal inquiry under the SEBI (Prohibition of Insider Trading) Regulations, 2015, and the company's Insider Trading Code.
This is a new fear that has been unlocked from this incident. Businesses should be very careful while uploading anything on their status.
