Vodafone Idea Limited has issued a regulatory filing dated January 01, 2026, addressed to the National Stock Exchange of India Limited and BSE Limited, under Regulation 30 of SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, disclosing that it has received a GST order passed by the Office of the Additional Commissioner, CGST Ahmedabad, under Section 74 of the Central Goods and Services Tax (GST) Act, 2017.
The said GST order has confirmed a penalty amounting to Rs. 637.90 crore on the company, including demand and interest as applicable. The company had received the said GST order on December 31, 2025, on the grounds that it had short-paid tax and claimed excess ITC (Input Tax Credit). However, the company has not accepted the order and is planning to challenge the order before the relevant legal authority.
Through the present regulatory filing, the company has also clarified that the highest financial impact is limited to the amount of tax, interest, and penalty that has been demanded.
