New TDS/TCS Return Utility Declared: Know How to Download Latest RPU Version?
Taxpayers must ensure that they are using the newly released versions of the tools offered by Protean if they do not want to face any difficulties while filing the return and to file it correctly. The latest versions of Return Preparation Utility (RPU) and File Validation Utility (FVU) at no cost can be downloaded from the official website of the Tax Information Network (TIN).
If you do not want to face any rejections or mistakes in your statement, always take advantage of the newly released versions to file TDS/TCS statements.
Step-by-step procedure to download the latest RPU version:
- Step 1: Visit the official website of TIN (formerly NSDL e-Gov) at https://www.protean-tinpan.com/.
- Step 2: On the homepage, go to the Downloads Tab.
- Step 3: Now navigate to the e-TDS/e-TCS section >>> Quarterly returns >>> Regular.
- Step 4: Look for the "Protean Return Preparation Utility" section. Click on the link and download it to your system.
- Step 5: Right-click on the zip file and choose “Extract All.”
- Step 6: Open the extracted folder and double-click on the TDS_RPU_5.6 (executable .jar file) to launch the utility.
- Step 7: Now it is all set to file the TDS/TCS statements; the interface will be displayed on the screen.
