• Eminent persons from the industry or R&D organizations can be engaged as Professors of Practice, who would be expected to spend full time in the Institute, helping to enrich the experience of students by bringing a deep understanding and appreciation of the best practices as applied in real world settings in a particular field of study. Additionally, they would help promote  the integration of academic scholarship with the practical experience of professionals in a given field.

Education:

Preference will be given to candidates having publications of high academic standards with an h-index (web of science) of 10 or more.

Professor of Practice –

Experience:

• The candidates should have reasonable (minimum 10) years of technical, managerial or professional experience.

Education:

• They should have at least a bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Design or a Master’s degree in Engineering/ Sciences/ Humanities/ Management/ Education/ Law or related fields. Ph.D. is desirable but not essential. Depending on the years of experience, the person may be offered the position of Professor of Practice. Retired persons from industry/ R&D organisations also will be considered. Professor of Practice posts are not open for those who are in the teaching profession.

Salary for NIT Jamshedpur Recruitment 2025:

The selected applicants for the posts mentioned above will be given a consolidated honorarium of Rs.120000 per month + unfurnished accommodation on a normal license fee and electricity and water charges as per actuals.
