NTA Inviting Online Applications for PhD 2024: NTA Conducted Biomedical Research Eligibility Test (BRET) 2024

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has successfully conducted the DHR-ICMR Non-Medical Fellowship for PhD -2024 – Biomedical Research Eligibility Test (BRET). This is a test organised to determine the eligibility of Indian national candidates for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) award through DHR-ICMR. The application window was open from 19 June 2024 to 09 July 2024. The application form’s correct window was open from July 10 to 11, 2024. The examination was organised in computer-based test (CBT) mode on July 31, 2024. As of the last date of the application form i.e., July 9, 2024, the age limit for the eligibility test is 30 years.

Exam Pattern: The Biomedical Research Eligibility Test (BRET) totally consisted of three parts and the whole exam was based on multiple-choice questions. All questions were compulsory to be answered and each held one mark. There was a negative marking in the exam, a 0.25 mark was deducted for each incorrect answer. No mark was awarded to the candidate for unattempted questions. No break was given to the candidate between the exams. The exam was conducted for two hours and consisted of a total of 120 questions. The question paper consisted of three sections, A, B and C.

Things Allowed at the Examination Hall
Candidates were only allowed to bring the things mentioned below, things found with the candidate other than those mentioned below, were taken away from the candidates before appearing for the exam.

  • Hall ticket of the examination downloaded from the official site of NTA i.e., nta.ac.in or exams.nta.ac.in, printed on A4 size paper.
  • One ball pen, note the pen should be transparent.
  • Carry your 01 photograph at the exam centre (same as uploaded in the application form). The photo will be pasted on the attendance sheet for the examination.
  • One photo identity proof issued by the government of India: PAN card, Driving License, Voter ID, Passport, Aadhaar Card (with photograph), E-Aadhaar with photograph, and Bank Passbook with photograph. Note the document must not be expired.
  • Candidate with disabilities must bring their PwBD certificate issued by an authorized medical officer.
  • If want to carry a water bottle, the bottle should be transparent.
  • If the candidate is suffering from diabetes, he/she can bring sugar tablets/fruits (like bananas/apples/oranges).

The candidates interested in applying for the exam were required to visit the “Information Bulletin” and apply online at exams.nta.ac.in between the period of 19 June 2024 to 09 July 2024 by paying the application fee through the payment gateway using Debit/Credit Cards/Net Banking/UPI.
