PAN Card Fraud: Actor Rajkummar Rao’s PAN card details misused to take loan; Actor says credit score affected
Bollywood Actor Rajkummar Rao was a victim of money scam on Saturday. His PAN card was used fraudulently to obtain a loan in his name. Rao revealed this information in a tweet. “My PAN card has been abused, and a minor loan of Rs 2500 has been taken in my name,” he tweeted. As a result, my CIBIL score has suffered. Please correct this and take preventative steps.
However, Rajkummar has been a victim of fraud for the second time this year. In January, he spoke about a bogus email sent in his name in order to extort 3 crore.
Many PAN card holders have discovered that loans on their PAN have been disbursed to an unknown person without their knowledge. The victims’ CIBIL score is being negatively impacted as a result of the PAN card loan fraud.
Ways to prevent pan card fraud
One’s PAN and Aadhaar number should not be shared because these records are very sensitive. Aside from that, one should write the reason for sharing a photocopy of his/her PAN card and Aadhar card and write it in such a way that portion of the line appears on the photograph. This eliminates the potential of such fraudulent abuse.
How to check pan card details
The PAN of a person is connected to his bank accounts. Any institution from which a person borrows shares such information on a regular basis with credit bureaus, which then update it in their system. Credit rating companies such as CIBIL, Equifax, Experian, and others provide information on loans outstanding against PAN. Logging into fintech companies such as Paytm and the PolicyBazaar app allows you to verify your loan data. These fintech apps provide customers with a quick CIBIL score as well as loan information.
