Patanjali’s Ramdev and Balkrishna issues New Public Apology bigger than before after Supreme Court Rap in Misleading Ads Case

Patanjali Ayurveda co-founders Yoga Guru Ramdev and Balkrishna issued a new public apology in newspapers on April 24, Wednesday, a day after the Supreme Court, while hearing a contempt case, questioned them if the apology was the same size as the advertisements.

“In wake of an ongoing matter before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, we in our capacity as well as on behalf of the Company, unconditionally apologise for the violations or disobedience of directions/orders of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India,” the newly released statement from Patanjali stated.

Patanjali Ayurveda apologized on Tuesday and promised not to make such a mistake again. This happened before of the Supreme Court hearing on the healthcare company’s false advertisements.

Hearing the deceptive ads case matter against Patanjali Ayurveda, Baba Ramdev, and Acharya Balkrishna on Tuesday, the Supreme Court further stated that the Union Government must wake up to this and take serious action on the subject.

When hearing the case, Justice Kohli stated, “I want to see the actual size of the ad.” The judge went on to inquire if the apology was the same size as its advertisements.

“We are now reviewing everything. We are dealing with infants, newborns, and mothers, and no one can be taken advantage of, and the Union Government must realize this,” the bench declared on Tuesday.

What is Patanjali Misleading Ads Case?

This year on February 27, the court issued a contempt notice to Ramdev and Balkrishna for publishing misleading health treatment advertisements and prohibiting Patanjali from promoting products with unproven claims of healing diseases such as heart disease and asthma.
