Prosus-owned payments firm PayU Payments has substantially strengthened its board of directors, adding five new members in a calculated move that brought the board’s total strength to seven on February 29. With a plethora of experience in finance, law, and business leadership, this varied group hopes to offer PayU invaluable advise and support as it navigates India’s constantly changing payments sector.

Who is Renu Sud Karnad?

Renu Sud Karnad, a former Managing Director of Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC), will head the new appointees and chair the board. Her vast background as the head of one of the biggest financial institutions in India is anticipated to be extremely helpful as PayU Payments looks to grow both its customer base and its range of products.

Since 2010, Housing Development Finance Corporation Limited (HDFC) has had Renu Karnad as its managing director. She graduated from the University of Delhi with a postgraduate degree in Economics and the University of Mumbai with a degree in Law. Additionally, she is a Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs Parvin Fellow at Princeton University in the United States.
