From Today, November 18, 2024, Delhi CM Atishi has closed physical classes in Delhi expect for classes 10th and 12th. The decision has been taken noticing the worst quality of air from past 5 days. Air pollution in Delhi is increasing rapidly.
The Commission for Air Quality Management has released an official notification under the Graded Response Action Plan, also known as GRAP IV, to control air pollution in Delhi NCR. The plan was implemented today at 8 AM.
Till the time air pollution is under control in Delhi NCR, the physical classes in Delhi schools will remain closed. Classes for 10th and 12th will continue as usual as these are board classes. Till the time schools will organise online teaching sessions for classes other than 10th and 12th. Classes will remain closed until further orders.
Delhi CM Atishi Tweeted, "With the imposition of GRAP-4 from tmrw, physical classes shall be discontinued for all students, apart from Class 10 and 12. All schools will hold online classes, until further orders."

- As of Sunday, November 17, 2024, the major parts of Delhi and the surrounding areas are experiencing terrible weather conditions, according to the Air Quality Index. Smog is still prevalent, and the temperature is being lowered by chilly winds. At roughly 7 am on Sunday, Delhi's overall AQI was in the "severe" category at 428.
- According to the recently released Delhi government orders, trucks are not allowed to run on Delhi roads except for those carrying essential items or those who use clean fuels to run such as LNG, CNG, BS-VI Diesel or Electric. Along with trucks, all non-essential light commercial vehicles registered outside Delhi are also banned on Delhi roads from today except for electric vehicles and CNG and BS-VI diesel vehicles. Additionally, all Delhi-registered BS-VI or older Diesel medium and heavy goods vehicles are also not allowed to run in Delhi except for those carrying essential goods or services.
