Postpone CA Exams May 2024 to June: CA Students Request ICAI

Following the publication of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 dates, the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAI) immediately changed the timetable for the CA Intermediate and Final Exams 2024.

Sharing their disappointment, several students have taken to social media platforms to express their genuine concerns about the updated schedule for the CA May exams 2024, urging the Institute to consider moving the CA Intermediate and Final exams from May to June, following the 18th Lok Sabha general elections.

As we all know, due to the 18th Lok Sabha elections in India, the Chartered Accountant Examinations May 2024 have been rescheduled, and the exams will now be held as given below:

Postpone ICAI CA Intermediate, Final Exams: CA Students Request ICAI

Many students, activists, and academics have come together to advocate for the postponement of CA exams till June. They say that postponing the CA examination till June would allow aspirants to pursue their academic ambitions while simultaneously exercising their fundamental right to vote as Indian citizens.

According to a notice issued by the Institute on March 19, the CA Final exams for Group 1 will be held on May 2, 4, and 8, while Group 2 will be held on May 10, 14, and 16, 2024.

In a post, the All India Students Dental Association urged the institute to postpone the ICAI CA exams. The Association tweeted:

“One-Day exam of UPSC is postponed due to General Elections 2024. But we don’t know why @theicai took the decision to conduct the 12 day exams in the middle of elections, which directly affects the Fundamental Right to Vote of almost 6,00,000 Students. #caexams #icai @ECISVEEP.” reads a Chartered Accountants message.

“The decision to keep exam dates during the National Elections is regrettable. With exams around the corner nobody is going to vote. Students were ready for a 1 month postponement. The decisions should always prioritize students and members first #caexams #icaiexams #ICAI.” a Chartered Accountant tweeted.
