Rajasthan High Court Postpones Personal Hearing on RTCA Plea for Tax Audit Deadline Extension:

The Rajasthan High Court has rescheduled the date for the personal hearing in the writ petition (CW/54522/2026) filed on September 22, 2026, by the Rajasthan Tax Consultants Association (RTCA), Jaipur, against the Union of India and the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), seeking an extension in the Tax Audit Report (TAR) filing deadline for the Assessment Year 2026-27 (Financial Year 2025-26) from September 30, 2026, to October 31, 2026.

Previously, the High Court had set September 25, 2026, as the date for personal hearing. However, as per the recent update, the court has postponed the personal hearing date to September 28, 2026, as the CBDT has sought extra time to furnish its reply.

The RTCA's demand to extend the TAR's deadline until October 31, 2026, remains unchanged.
