RBI Launches 2025-26 Software and ITES Export Survey; Submission Deadline July 15
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has started its annual survey on computer software and information technology-enabled services (ITES) exports for the year 2025-26. The survey collects information about exports of computer software services, IT-enabled services (ITES), and business process outsourcing (BPO) services. The data collected through this survey is used to prepare India's external sector statistics and to publish consolidated survey results.
All companies and entities that export software services or ITES/BPO services are required to participate in this survey. For the current round of survey, the format of the ITES survey schedule has been revised. The survey form is available on the RBI website under the "Regulatory Reporting" section or under the "Forms" section in English and Hindi. The completed survey form may be submitted electronically. The last date for submission of the survey response is July 15, 2026.
This year, RBI is conducting the survey through the Centralised Information Management System (CIMS), which allows online submission of data. The system includes automatic data validation checks to improve data quality and sends an acknowledgement email once the submission is successful. At the same time, the existing Excel-based submission system through the SMS platform is also available.
Participating entities will receive survey-related emails from two sources: [email protected] (for the existing SMS system) and [email protected] (for the CIMS portal). RBI requested entities to submit their completed Excel-based survey form by email to [email protected] and also submit the information through the CIMS portal using the login link provided in the email from [email protected].
Entities can register themselves on the CIMS portal using the self-registration link and create login credentials to submit the survey online. The RBI has also informed that the current Excel-based reporting system will be discontinued from the next survey round.
