RBI's Order on Continuation of Government Banking Transactions on March 31, 2026 The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has recently issued an order (RBI/2025-26/204) on February 3, 2026, which conveys the Government of India’s instructions to all agency banks to remain open for public transactions on March 31, 2026. The Government of India has asked banks that handle government payments and collections to remain open on March 31, 2026, even though it is a public holiday. It further added that this is to make sure that all government transactions are recorded within the financial year 2025-26. Therefore, banks acting as Agency Banks should keep their branches that deal with government business open on that day.
RBI Notifies New Export and Import Rules Under FEMA to Ease Trade Compliance; Effective October 2026
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) further added that Banks should inform people clearly that these banking services will be available on that day.
