SBI set to hire over 10,000 engineers State Bank Of India (SBI), Chairman Dinesh Khara on Thursday shared the news upcoming financial year, SBI plan to hire over 10,000 engineers which is approximately 85% of their new recruits. Khara explained that they are in the process of hiring around 11,000 to 12,000 employees. Many of them are regular hires, but what's interesting is that 85 percent of those at associate and officer levels have an engineering background. They receive some banking training before being placed in various roles, including IT. SBI had a total employees strength of 2,32,296 in FY24, drown from 2,35,858 in FY23. At the same time, the bank share has big plan for upgrading its Yono app. Khara said they'll launch the first part of Yono 2.0 in July. This new version will have a better design and personalized features to make it easier for users. Right now, over 60.7 million people are using the Yono app. The bank set aside Rs 15,877.09 crore towards the 17% wage increase agreed upon in the twelfth bipartite settlement between the Indian Banks’ Association and bank unions during FY24. In Upcoming FY25 bank add 300 new branches, which more than double than 140 new brunches added in FY24. With these big plans Khara said, SBI is getting ready to build a stronger team, improve its tech, and provide customers with an even better banking experience.
