Server Downtime, Errors Hit ITR Filings in Jodhpur: Tax Experts Urge Deadline Relief
In Jodhpur, as the deadline of September 15 for filing Income Tax Returns (ITR) approaches, there are a number of problems with the Income Tax Department’s e-filing portal. The portal has been facing repeated server downtime and technical glitches. On Friday as well, the portal remained down for more than two hours.
Due to these technical issues, millions of taxpayers are facing difficulties in filing their returns. And now requesting Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to extend these deadlines. The ITR Filing deadline was previously July 31 and then extended to September 15. However, portal validation errors, slow upload speed, server downtime and other issues are disturbing taxpayers.
Whereas on social media, taxpayers are complaining about the ITR portal's glitch and the issue they are facing. Some taxpayers shared that there are login issues in the portal, and some are facing issues while downloading the Form 26AS.
The Tax Bar Association has sent an official representation to the Finance Minister to extend the following due dates:
- Non-Audit ITR: October 15
- Tax Audit Report (TAR): November 30
