Shocking: CA kills wife, son due to ‘financial difficulty’ after losing job due to Covid
After losing his job during the Covid-19 lockdown, a 40-year-old man allegedly killed his wife and teenage kid out of financial desperation. The former Chartered Accountant(CA) is accused of suffocating the two on Saturday afternoon in Geeta Colony in east Delhi, although the exact cause of their deaths is still unknown.
Sachin Arora, according to police, worked as a chartered accountant before opening a grocery business in Geeta Colony. OP Arora, the accused’s father, told TOI that his son was earning well when he was employed, but that when the pandemic hit the economy, he lost his job and began working at a grocery shop. “The lockdown had a negative impact on people’s jobs and enterprises.” “It’s not like we were having money difficulties, so I’m not sure what went through my son’s head to lead him to take such a drastic measure,” the father explained.
The post-mortem reports are still pending, according to authorities. The police are also looking into whether the mother and son were poisoned before their deaths.
“The accused’s mother phoned us at 3.40pm on Saturday notifying us about the double murder,” said R Sathiyasundaram, DCP (Shahdara). The remains were discovered on the house’s second level. Kanchan Arora, 35, and her 15-year-old son were identified as the victims. The police and forensic teams were dispatched. Sachin Arora also admitted to murdering his wife and son in a message on his family WhatsApp group. We were able to track him down and apprehend him later.”
Arora’s mother, Lakshmi Devi, claimed her son came home from the shop about 1.30 p.m. “Both my husband and I questioned why he came early when he typically arrives home late at night. “Sachin stated he wasn’t feeling good,” Devi explained. “When we subsequently summoned everyone for lunch, Sachin stroked our feet and said, ‘This is my last Ram Ram to you, and I have laid them to rest, and now I am going to do the same to myself.’ He walked away after saying this, and we chased after him. Then my husband went upstairs to investigate and discovered the two of them dead.”
What had happened astounded the locals and neighbours. “Everyone in the family was friendly and respectful of others. “It’s hard to accept what’s happened,” a neighbour expressed his disbelief. “They lived happily ever after, and we have no idea what went wrong.”
