State Govt Fines Rs. 5.6 lakh on dealers for GST evasion and non-issuance of Tax invoices
The South Kashmir State Taxes Department's Enforcement Wing, led by Deputy Commissioner of State Taxes Shahnawaz Shah, has increased enforcement efforts throughout the state.
The department is conducting frequent enforcement efforts in four districts of South Kashmir to ensure that dealers, traders, and transporters are complying with GST.
During the enforcement drives this week, the department imposed and incurred penalty of Rs. 5 lakh on dealers or traders carrying goods in violation of the GST Act and Rs. 60,000 on non-issuance of GST invoices, and they were instructed to refrain from such actions in the future.
The Deputy Commissioner urged the officials to be on the lookout for any kind of tax evasion.
He further stated that such enforcement efforts would be carried out regularly and that any dealer or transporter discovered to be participating in such activities would be dealt with strictly under GST laws.
