Sudarshan Colorants India Limited, formerly known as Heubach Colorants India Limited, said it has received an appeal order from the Deputy Commissioner (S.T.) (Appeals), Vellore and Cuddalore Division, Tamil Nadu, rejecting the company’s appeal against a GST demand order.

The company received the order on September 11, 2026. The case relates to a GST assessment for the 2018-19 financial year in Tamil Nadu. The original demand order, dated April 30, 2024, was issued under Section 73 of the TNGST and CGST Acts, 2017.

The total GST demand stands at Rs 5.11 crore, which includes Rs 2.56 crore in tax, Rs 2.32 crore in interest and Rs 22.91 lakh in penalty.

The appellate authority has rejected Sudarshan Colorants’ appeal and upheld the original demand order. However, the company said the order can still be challenged before a higher authority and that it is currently in the process of filing another appeal.

Sudarshan Colorants said it does not expect any material impact on its financial position, operations or other activities as a result of the latest order.
