Supreme Court Refuses to postpone CA Exams May 2024 In the matter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) versus CA students, there is a setback for CA Students as the Apex Court has refused to postpone CA Exams scheduled to be held in May 2024. The Bench of 3 Judges led by Hon'ble Chief Justice of India, Dhananjaya Yeshwant Chandrachud has said that changing the examination dates now will disturb the extensive arrangement in place for the conduct of examinations and will be an injustice to4 Lakh  students who have enrolled for exams. The Court also said that the option of providing opt-out would be prejudice to students who were planning to clear exams in the first attempt. At the time of COVID things were different as it was the matter of public health crises. The CA Exams are stated to be held from 2nd May to 17th May. Students wanted postponement as the elections are being held in some States on May 7 and May 13, 2024 Advocate Madhvi Diwan submitted that "There are students from Kalahandi and other rural areas who will not be able to appear for the exams on 8th and 14th May since elections are on. It can be on 7th and 13th May."
