Two EPF Government Officials Arrested in Rs 1.5 Lakh Bribe Demand Case
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested two government employees in Srinagar for taking a bribe. The arrested officials are a Regional Provident Fund Commissioner (RPFC) and a Senior Security Assistant working at the Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) office in Batmaloo, Kashmir.
The case was registered on March 31, 2026. It is alleged that the commissioner asked the complainant to pay Rs 1,50,000 to avoid taking strict action and imposing a heavy penalty on his school.
The CBI set up a trap on the same day and caught the Senior Security Assistant red-handed while taking Rs 50,000 from the complainant. After this, the Commissioner was also arrested because he admitted that the money was received through the assistant.
The investigation is still going on.
