UDIN Can be Generated within 60 Days: ICAI Council

UDIN can be generated within 60 days: ICAI Council To curb the malpractices, the Professional Development Committee of ICAI has implemented in a phased manner an innovative concept of UDIN i.e. Unique Document Identification Number. All Certificates were being made mandatory with effect from 1st February 2019 as per the Council decision taken at its 379th Meeting held on 17th – 18th December 2018. Chartered Accountants having a full-time Certificate of Practice need to generate the UDIN within 15 Days from https://udin.icai.org/ Portal if they are attested/certified by them. Now ICAI Council has decided UDIN can be generated within 60 days (in place if 15 days). This is also in view of SQC and, SA. ICAI is also receiving number of complaints of signatures of CAs being forged by non CAs.
