Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is seeking applications from suitable and willing candidates for the post of Library and Information Assistant. There is only 01 opening to be filled for UPSC Recruitment 2024.

Salary for UPSC Recruitment 2024:

The candidates who are selected for UPSC Recruitment 2024 will be given a monthly salary on Level 06 (Rs.35400-Rs.112400) of the Pay Matrix in the Office of UPSC.

Eligibility Criteria for UPSC Recruitment 2024:

Candidates must have the required eligibility criteria to apply for the UPSC Recruitment 2024 as mentioned below-

Officials of the Central Government or State Government or Union Territories or Semi-Government or Recognized Research Institutions or Universities or Public Sector Undertaking or Autonomous or Statutory Organizations-

• Holding analogous posts on a regular basis. OR
• With 06 years of regular service in the grade in Level-05 (Rs.29200-92300) of the pay matrix or equivalent. And

Possessing the following education qualification and experience, namely-

• The applicant must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Library and Information Science from a recognized University or Institute.
• The applicant must have 02 years of professional experience in a Library under the Central Government or State Government or Autonomous or Statutory Organization or Public Sector Undertakings or Universities or Recognized Research or Educational Institute. 

Desirable-

• The applicant must have a Diploma in Computer Application from a recognized university or Institute.

Tenure for UPSC Recruitment 2024:

The appointment is made on a deputation (short-term contract) basis and the selected candidates for UPSC Recruitment 2024 will be engaged initially for a period of 03 years to extendable as per DOP and T guidelines. A candidate, once appointed to the deputation post in the UPSC will be eligible for forwarding of applications to other deputation posts in other departments/Organizations only after completion of at least 02 years of service in the post of out of the 03 years prescribed deputation period.
