Vashu Bhagnani Hospitalised in London, Requests Privacy Amid Reported Income Tax Searches Over Alleged Financial Irregularities:

Film producer Vashu Bhagnani has reportedly been hospitalised in London, with the reason for his admission yet to be disclosed.

According to reports, Bhagnani was contacted by news agency ANI and requested privacy, reportedly asking to be left “alone”. No further details regarding his health or the nature of his medical condition have been made public so far.

His hospitalisation comes shortly after reports of Income Tax Department searches at multiple locations associated with Bhagnani, his daughter-in-law and actor Rakul Preet Singh, and Panorama Studios.

The searches at approximately 12 locations in Mumbai and are linked to allegations of financial irregularities. Financial documents and records pertaining to suspected overseas deals allegedly tied to film financing are reportedly being scrutinized by investigators.

Officials are investigating what these transactions were and what their purpose was, it is reported as part of the continuing inquiry. The allegations are being investigated and further details are expected.

Bhagnani has been a prominent figure in the Hindi film industry for decades. He founded Pooja Entertainment in 1995 and entered film production with the Govinda-starrer Coolie No. 1.

Over the years, he went on to produce several commercially successful films, including Hero No. 1, Biwi No. 1, Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya and Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein.

More recently, Pooja Entertainment backed projects including Sarbjit, Bell Bottom and the 2024 action film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, featuring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff.

The production banner is currently led by Bhagnani’s son, Jackky Bhagnani, and has expanded its work across theatrical releases, digital content and other entertainment ventures.
