2 Arrested for GST Fraud of Rs. 60 Crores Ismail Khokhar of Bhavnagar and Aamirkhan Pathan of Sarkhej were taken into custody by the City Crime Branch on Thursday for allegedly filing false GST return filings totaling Rs 60 crore. In his formal complaint filed with the DCB (detection of crime branch) on Wednesday, Gota resident Daksh Patel, 22, stated that he had employed Pathan as an accountant in September 2023 and had given him his ID and password so that he could file tax returns for his human resources company. According to reports, Pathan reset the password and ID and connected them to his phone. Later on, after being apprehended in a separate case of GST fraud, he sold the ID to Khokhar. Khokhar and his assistants used Patel's ID to conduct fraudulent invoicing and tax evasion. In response, Patel received a notification from the state GST department requiring him to pay a penalty of Rs 60 crore by November 2023.
