As per News Sources, Five people were arrested in Udaipur on Sunday, including high GST officials, for collecting a bribe of Rs 4 lakh from a middle man. The arrests took place at the residence of an Additional Commissioner of the Commercial Taxes Department in Bhilwara, who was one of those detained.

The employees and some brokers were placed under investigation after the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) received a report about a large-scale scheme to avoid GST at the Bhilwara tax department, according to ACB DGP BL Soni. According to him, the racket was run with the help of many cops, department employees, and a few private individuals. The ACB dispatched a special team to Udaipur and Bhilwara at the same time. According to Soni, Mohd Hussain Ansari, Additional Commissioner of Commercial Tax Department, GST Circle, Bhilwara, was caught while taking a bribe of Rs 4 lakh at his Udaipur property.

Dinesh Tailor, a tax officer in Bhilwara, Rajmal Agarwal, a transporter, and two others, Laxman Agarwal and Nilesh Agarwal, were all detained in the case. The locations of numerous additional suspected department officers in Bhilwara and Udaipur are being searched, according to the statement. A case has been filed against the accused under the Prevention of Corruption Act, and the matter is currently being probed.
