80 lakh+ Taxpayers have already received their refunds for AY 2021-22 The Income Tax Department announced on Saturday that more than 80 lakh taxpayers have already received their refunds for the fiscal year 2021-22. The IT Department said on Twitter, "Over 80 lakh taxpayers have already received their refunds for AY 2021-22. To receive your refund as soon as possible, file your tax return TODAY. The deadline for filing ITRs for the AY 2021-22 is December 31, 2021." Between April 1, 2021, and November 29, 2021, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) awarded refunds of over Rs. 1,29,210 crore to more than 1.15 crore taxpayers. In 1,13,14,007 cases, income tax refunds of Rs. 42,981 crore were issued, and company tax refunds of Rs. 86,228 crore were issued in 1,93,002 cases. The central body added that this includes 79.70 lakh refunds for the fiscal year 2021-22, totaling Rs. 16,691.50 crore. In addition, the CBDT has extended the deadline for updating UDINs on the e-filing system for all IT types until January 31, 2022.
