BUDGET 2022: Government to Make Capital Expenditure of Rs 7.5 Lakh Crore

The Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is presenting her fourth Union Budget in Parliament in a paperless manner, like she did last year. Domestic and foreign investors, as well as other interest groups such as farmers, crypto investors, worried middle class and business organizations, as well as MPs, will be watching the Budget address closely.

The government has upped its capital expenditure target for FY23 from Rs 5.5 lakh crore to Rs 7.5 lakh crore in the previous Budget.

The increase in capital expenditure will be a significant boon to the economy and private investment, which will help to create jobs.

The government increased capital investment by 34.5 percent to Rs 5.5 lakh crore in the recent Budget.

This will account for 2.9 percent of GDP.

Experts have advocated for a bigger capital expenditure to kick-start the economy and return it to a high-growth trajectory.
