The country’s largest Car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI), stated that the first phase of its new production facility in Haryana will cost Rs 11,000 crore. The carmaker said in a regulatory filing that it has finalized the assignment of an 800-acre land at IMT Kharkhoda in Sonipat district to HSIIDC (Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited).
Subject to administrative permissions, the first phase of the new factory, with a manufacturing capacity of 2.5 lakh units per year, is projected to be operational by 2025. With the installation of this plant of Maruti, 15000 people will get direct employment by 2025.
According to MSI, the initial investment will be around Rs 11,000 crore. “The location will have room for capacity development in the future to incorporate other manufacturing units,” MSI said.
MSI’s manufacturing operations in Haryana and Gujarat have a combined production capacity of roughly 5.5 lakh units every quarter, or around 22 lakh units per year.
