Link your Aadhaar-PAN by June 30 to avoid Fees of Rs 1000, Read the entire procedure here
If you haven’t already, link your Aadhar card and PAN you should link the same as soon as possible. You must pay a charge of Rs 500 if you link your PAN with Aadhaar on or before June 30. Following then, a fee of Rs 1,000 must be paid for the PAN-Aadhaar link. Through the Income Tax Portal, you can quickly link an Aadhar Card to a PAN. Here, we outline the steps involved in integrating your Aadhaar and PAN.
Process link Aadhar to PAN
- first, go to the Income Tax website
- Select the Aadhar Link under Quick Links here.
- Click on Validate after entering your PAN and Aadhaar number.
- You will notice a link instructing you to go to the NSDL website to make a payment if the PAN-Aadhaar link is missing.
- You must click PROCEED in CHALLAN NO./ITNS 280 at this point.
- Go ahead and choose Tax applicable (0021) Income Tax on the page that appears (Other than Companies).
- You must choose Other Receipts under Type of Payment (500).
- Net Banking and a debit card will be the two payment methods offered.
- You can select whichever of the two choices best suits your needs.
- In the Permanent Account Number field, enter the PAN card number.
- Select the assessment year 2023–2024.
- In the address field, type any of your addresses.
- Now enter the captcha code and press the next button.
- Your entered information will appear on the screen after you click Proceed.
- After verifying the data, select I Agree and press the bank’s submit button.
- Click on modify if any of the information you entered is incorrect.

- Whether you chose a debit card or online banking, it doesn’t matter.
- Up until June 30th, fees of 500 rupees will be levied; thereafter, a fee of 1000 rupees will be due.
- Following the transaction’s conclusion, you will receive a PDF. Keep this download close at hand.
- The updating of this payment will take 4-5 days.
- You must visit the Income Tax website once more and click the Aadhaar link after 4-5 days.
- Click Validate after providing your PAN number and Aadhaar number.
- If your payment has been updated, the screen will display the option to continue.
- After selecting Continue, a new page will open where your name and mobile number must be input in accordance with your Aadhar card.
- Continue by clicking. You will now receive an OTP.
- Type in the OTP and select Validate. A pop-up window will now appear.
- Your request for Aadhaar PAN linkage has been forwarded to UIDAI for validation, it will say in the pop-up.
- Your PAN and Aadhaar will be connected after validation. On the Income Tax website, you may find out its current status.
Although it might seem like a lengthy process, you can do it in within 4-5 minutes.
Note: Below mentioned categories are exempted from Aadhaar–PAN linking
(i) NRI
(ii) not a citizen of India
(iii) Whose age is more than 80 years
(iv) if a resident of Assam, Meghalaya or Jammu and Kashmir
