CBI arrests Branch Sales Manager of ICICI Bank for accepting Bribe of Rs.50000

The Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI) has arrested a Branch Sales Manager, ICICI Bank, Bhuteshwar Branch, Mathura(Uttar Pradesh) and a Sales Executive(Outsource employee of said Bank) for demanding & accepting bribe of Rs.50,000/- from the Complainant.

On the basis of a complaint, a case was opened against the accused. It was claimed that the complainant had gotten a home loan for Rs.10 lakh from the ICICI branch in Bhuteshwar, where the bank had initially given him the Rs 3.04 lakh first instalment of the loan. It was further stated that the said Branch Sales Manager required the Complainant to pay a bribe of Rs 50,000/- in order to continue disbursing the remaining loan money and instructed him to give the bribe to an outsourced worker employed as a sales executive in the ICICI Branch.

The CBI set up a trap, and the culprit was apprehended while taking the Rs. 50,000 bribe. Searches at the accused’s home resulted in the discovery of papers that could be used against them.

Both of the apprehended suspects were presented before the Special Judge of the CBI Court in Ghaziabad and sent to judicial custody for a period of 14 days.
