UPSC Recruitment 2023: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has called in Online Applications from Candidates Eligible for the Post Administrative Officer in the Geological Survey of India, Ministry of Mines, Government of India.

As has been mentioned in the UPSC Recruitment 2023,  the notified 08 Vacancies include 04 Posts earmarked for the Un-Reserved Category for Appointment on the Administrative Office Post under Pay Scale Level 07 (Rs. 44900 – 142400) in the Pay Matrix.

Vacancy: 08 Nos. (04 Posts Earmarked for General Merit Candidates)

Posting Location: Ministerial Head Quarters, New Delhi

Pay Scale for UPSC Recruitment 2023:

Post Selection, the Officers shall be issued Appointments under the Pay Scale mentioned hereunder:

Pay Scale: Level 07 (Rs.44900 to 142400) in the Pay Matrix

Upper Age Limits vide UPSC Recruitment 2023:

Upper Age Limits vide UPSC Recruitment 2023 is given below:

1) The Un-Reserved Category Candidates (as on the Closing Date 16.02.2023) should not exceed 30 Years as published in the UPSC Recruitment 2023 Notification.

2) Relaxations in the Upper Age Limits for Reserved Community Candidates are available in the UPSC Recruitment Notification 2023 issued.

2) The Upper Age Limit remains Relaxable for Regularly Appointed Central Government/Union Territory Government Servants up to 05 Years as per the instructions issued by the Government of India from time to time.

3) For concession in Age applicable to some other Categories of Applicants (Relevant Paragraphs of the ‘Instructions and Additional Information to Candidates for Recruitment by Selection’ may be read in the UPSC Recruitment 2023 Notification).

Eligibility for the UPSC Recruitment 2023:

The Eligibility comprising the Educational Qualification(s) and Experience essential for the Applicants is as follows:

A) Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from any Accredited University/Institute. Or

Important Note: The Educational Qualifications (prescribed under the UPSC Recruitment 2023 Advertisement with reference to the Ministry of Home Affairs) remain relaxable at the UPSC’s discretion for reasons to be recorded in writing, with respect to the Candidates otherwise well-qualified.

B) Desirable Qualification(s): 02-Years’ Experience in Administration, Accounts and Establishment, Legal or Vigilance matters in Central or State or Union Territory Government or Government Autonomous or Statutory Organisation or Central or State Public Sector Corporation or University.

Selection Process for UPSC Recruitment 2023:

The Union Public Service Commission shall carry through the Recruitment Test Selection and Other Criteria vide the UPSC Recruitment 2023 Advertisement explained hereunder:

Recruitment Methodology for Ministry of Home Affairs:

In the event of the Applications received in large number from the Applicants, the Union Public Service Commission will adopt the Shortlisting Criteria for restricting the number of Eligible Candidates to be summoned for the Interviews to a Reasonable Number by any or more of the Methodologies  explained hereunder:

a) “On the basis of Desirable Qualification (DQ)/any one or all of the Desirable Qualifications (DQs), if more than one Desirable Qualification is prescribed”.

b) On the basis of Higher Educational Qualifications than the Minimum prescribed in the UPSC Recruitment 2023 Notification.

c) Based on Higher Experience in the relevant field than the Minimum prescribed in the UPSC Recruitment 2023

d) By reckoning the Prior Professional Work-Experience before or Post-acquiring Essential Qualifications (EQs) of the Applicants.

e) By invoking the Prior Work Experience even in cases where there is No Experience mentioned Either as Essential Qualification (EQ)/as Desirable Qualification (DQ).

f) By conducting a Recruitment Test (RT).

Note-II: Important Points:

Viva-voce/Personality Test weighs Total 100 Marks explained as hereunder:

i) The Category-wise Minimum Level of Suitability in the Interviews (100 Marks), irrespective of whether the Selection is conducted only by way of Interview/by holding a Recruitment Test (RT) to be followed by the Interview, shall remain as has been explained hereunder:

a) Un-Reserved Candidates to secure Minimum Qualifying 50 Marks out of Aggregate 100 Marks;

b) Economically Weaker Section: 50 Marks;

c) Other Backward Community: 45 Marks;

d) Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Caste/Persons with Benchmark Disability/ies (PwBD/s): 40 Marks;

ii) In cases where Selection is carried out by the Recruitment Test (RT) followed by the Personal Interview, the Candidate will have to attain the Minimum Level of Suitability in their respective Categories in the course of the Interview Stage.

Application Fee for UPSC Recruitment 2023:

a) The Candidates shall need to pay an Application Fee of Rs. 25.00 (Rupees Twenty-five only) only either by remitting the Money in any Branch of the State Bank of India through Cash/by using the Net-banking Facility of the State Bank of India by using Visa/Master Credit/Debit Card.

b) Reserved Community (SC/ST/PwBDs) and Women Candidates under any Community remain Exempted from paying the Application Fee.

ii) Carefully read the Online Application/Registration Instructions available on the UPSC ORA Portal;

iv) Scan Signature and the Most-recent Passport-size Photograph for uploading with Online Registered Application (ORA);
