NIA Recruitment 2023: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) Branch office in Chennai is hiring retired police officers and officials of central and state government for the position of Investigation Expert (Consultant). The engagement period is tentatively one year, with the provision of extension for up to five years or until the age of 65, whichever is earlier. As per NIA Recruitment 2023 official notification, the remuneration for this position will be determined by deducting the basic pension from the last pay drawn at the time of retirement, as per the Ministry of Finance’s OM No.F.No.3-25/2020-EIA dated 09-12-2020. No other allowances will be applicable, although TA/DA will be permissible for official tours.

Candidates applying for the position of Investigation Expert (Consultant) must have a minimum of ten years of experience in handling criminal investigation cases, intelligence work, or counter-terrorism. They must also hold a graduation degree. As per NIA Recruitment 2023 official notification, the position is open to retired Inspectors, Dy. SP. Addl SP and SP or equivalent level officers of central police organizations such as CBI, NCB, ID, Cabinet Secretariat, NIRO, Customs, Income Tax, DRI, etc., and state police.
