DRDO Recruitment 2023: The Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) is seeking retired officers from the Central Government, State Government, PSU, and Autonomous Bodies with considerable experience in the functioning of Central Government Ministries/Departments to engage as Consultants on short-term contract basis. As per DRDO Recruitment 2023 official notification, the consultants will be engaged as per the post-specific terms of reference (TOR) for a maximum period of one year, extendable up to two years as decided by the competent authority. The position is open for two consultants with Level 7/8/9 pay levels. The candidates are expected to have expertise in government administration, defense auditing, and accounting procedures to provide administrative and financial expertise to the stakeholders. The tasks assigned to the consultants include assisting in all work related to the administrative and financial management of Program/Project/Lab/Estt, maintaining project-related records, and ensuring cash flow projections are timely and accurately made.
The consultants will receive a fixed monthly amount as remuneration and conveyance allowance. A fixed monthly amount for commuting between the residence and place of work shall also be allowed for pay levels from 7 to 9. As per DRDO Recruitment 2023 official notification, the maximum age limit for all categories of retired employees applying for the position is 63 years as on the closing date of application. The applicants must submit their applications in the enclosed format along with the documents referred to in the application to the Director, Centre for Airborne Systems (CABS), Belur, Yemlur Post, Bengaluru-560037, with the subject line “Application for Consultant.” Interested eligible retired officials must ensure that their applications are complete and eligible, failing which the applications will be rejected automatically without any intimation.

As per DRDO Recruitment 2023 official notification, the post advertised by DRDO is for the engagement of 1 retired government officer as Consultants on a short-term contract basis for a period of one year, which may be extendable for a second year as decided by the Competent Authority.

For pensioners, a fixed monthly amount shall be admissible, which will be arrived at by deducting the basic pension from the drawn amount at the time of retirement. The amount so fixed shall remain unchanged for the term of the contract, and there will be no annual increment/percentage increase during the contract period. A fixed monthly amount as a conveyance allowance for the purpose of commuting between the residence and the place of work shall also be allowed at Rs. 3000/- for pay levels from level 7 to 9.
For non-pensioners, a fixed monthly amount of Rs. 30,000/- for level 7 and Rs. 40,000/- for levels 8 & 9 shall be admissible. The amount shall remain unchanged for the term of the contract, and there will be no annual increment/percentage increase during the contract period. A fixed monthly amount as conveyance allowance for the purpose of commuting between the residence and the place of work shall also be allowed at Rs. 3000/- for pay levels from levels 7 to 9.
If a retired government official is appointed as a consultant, he/she shall continue to draw pension and dearness relief on pension during the period of his/her engagement as a consultant. His/her engagement as a consultant shall not be construed as a case of re-employment.
