Haryana Anti Corruption Bureau arrested two Excise Officials in Bribery Case

The Haryana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has nabbed two officers involved in corrupt practises at the Excise and Taxation Department in Faridabad, authorities said on Friday.

Vinay, a data entry operator, and Vikram, an Inspector, have been named as the suspects.

According to a sources, the ACB’s quick action was triggered by a complaint made by Parvinder Singh, a resident of Sector 55 in Faridabad.

“The complainant alleged that both Vikram, an Inspector, and Vinay, a Data Entry Operator, demanded a Rs 15,000 bribe in exchange for not cancelling his firm’s Goods and Services Tax number,” authorities said.

After receiving the report, the ACB squad swiftly launched a raid, capturing Data Entry Operator, Vinay red-handed taking bribe of Rs.15,000. Following that, accused Inspector Vikram was apprehended.

Both suspects were arrested in accordance with the requirements of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

A complaint against them has been filed at the ACB Police Station in Faridabad. The inquiry is still proceeding to obtain further evidence concerning their involvement in corrupt actions, according to the spokeswoman.
