Essential Qualification-

• The candidates should have passed the 10+2 examination or its equivalent from a Board of School Education or university recognized by the H.P. Government.

The applicants must have the following speed in shorthand and typewriting in both languages, i.e. English and Hindi, at the time of initial recruitment:

Speed in shorthand:

• English 80 WPM
• Hindi 70 WPM

Speed in typewriting:

• English 40 WPM
• Hindi 30 WPM

The candidates must know about word processing on the computer as prescribed by the recruiting authority.

Desirable Qualification:

• The applicants should have knowledge of the customs, manners and dialects of Himachal Pradesh and be suitable for appointment in the peculiar conditions prevailing in the state.

Mode of Selection for Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission Recruitment 2023:

Based on the official notification of Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission Recruitment 2023, the applicant’s selection will be based on screening, / computer-based test (CBT), and a skill test, i.e., a typing test and a shorthand test. The details are given below-

For Paper- I-

A 01 hour computer-based or offline screening test consisting of 50 questions worth 100 points as follows-

• General knowledge of Himachal Pradesh = 30 Marks
• General knowledge of National and International Affairs= 30 Marks
• Knowledge of the Hindi language = 20 Marks
• Knowledge of the English language = 20 Marks

For Paper-II-

• A Subject Aptitude Test (SAT) (objective type) of 02 hours duration and 100 points, as determined by the Commission from time to time.
