GSTR-1 Due Date Extension likely amid GST Portal Glitches

It has been two days since Tax Professionals are complaining about the various glitches coming on GST Portal. Finally today, GSTN has confirmed that they have sent an incident report to CBIC to consider an extension in filing date.

Yesterday GSTN acknowledged the issue being faced regarding GSTR-1 summary generation and its filing. They have informed that their team is working on it and same will be fixed shortly.

Taxpayers and Tax Professionals are now demanding from the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) to extend the GST Return Due Date considering the downtime error and maintenance of the GST Common Portal.

The Due Date to file GSTR-1, the statement of outward supply for the month of December 2024 is 11th January 2025. Also for the Quarterly Return monthly payment (QRMP) Scheme, the due date for filing GSTR-1 for the quarter-ending December 2024 is 13th January 2025.

Also today, i.e., 10th January is the due date for filing GSTR-7 and GSTR-8 for the month of December 2024.
